Singapore Smart Floating Photovoltaic Fish Farm<\/strong>, equipped with a system that detects if fish are sick and tracks their growth rates, was opened on 17 Feb 2020. The opening ceremony was officially launched by Mr Masagoes Zulkifli, minister for the Environment and Water Resources.<\/p>\n

Located off Pasir Ris Coast, the 3,000 sqm offshore facility houses 10 tanks, each of which can hold up to 10 tonnes of fish. The tanks work on a closed loop system that recycles water and does not release waste into the ocean.<\/p>\n

In a bid to reduce its carbon footprint, the farm uses solar power to run at least 50 per cent of its operations. MEGAWATTS had designed and installed the solar and energy battery storage system at the fish farm, enabling a stable power supply at an off-grid area. The photovoltaic panels are mounted to act as a roof; providing cost saving on roof material.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
